What does jazz up and improvise mean, especially in the new year 2023?
It means to look within as a means to the outside and then repeat that cyclic imagination process. It's an experience that imagines how one single idea reproduces many other ideas that have a reciprocal and unique effect on each other. We must not forget the very first quality revealed about God is that He's self-existent, that He's a creative God, and that He tries out His internal ideas externally and likes what comes out of them. Creativity. He looked at nothing and created something from nothing, then he saw that it was good, in other words, He found pleasure and inspiration from His creation. We, too, must jazz up (look, search, gather) from within our imagination, bring out what is there, and use it to create something new at a moment's notice. Improvisation happens when nothing prepared is present, yet the need requires a response, one that must be made at the moment, just like God responded creatively when nothing existed. The true art of Jazz is to gather from imagination, community, and conversation to improvise until nothing becomes something. Make nothing something this year.
