Ivan Akansiima is a Christian, Jazz theologian and music craftsman, weaving a rich tapestry of faith and music that transcends borders and genres. This Ugandan-born, Michigan-based virtuoso is a multi-instrumentalist, worship leader, and jazz musician extraordinaire, with a Master of Divinity from Western Theological School, a Master in Jazz Studies from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor's degree in Music from Hope College. Ivan's musical roots are anchored in African music traditions with rich melodies and rhythms found in almost all music of the world.
His sound is a mesmerizing blend of Ugandan folk traditions, jazz, gospel, classical, Caribbean, and Afro-fusion rhythms. For over 15 years, Ivan has taken the world by storm, performing in 40 countries, including a monumental 50-state national music tour across the USA and Canada.
